Overview

The training will look at the tools that Mahara provides as well as best practice examples of use. Areas covered will include:

• What is an ePortoflio and how Mahara fills this description
• Installing Mahara
• Site management of a Mahara system
• Setting up users permissions for staff, students, tutors, etc.
• Adding Files and Blogs in Mahara
• How to create and manage Mahara Views
• Using Mahara for group orientated tasks
• Exporting Portfolios
• Integrating Mahara with Moodle

The course is targeted at both Teachers as well as educational IT Administrators. It is delivered in a social, participatory and hands on style with time allotted for discussion to ensure relevance is kept for attendees from a wide range of educational institutions.

A Manual is provided as part of this course.

Participant Requirements

Participants will be required to add content to portfolios hence we ask that each participant bring along resources and materials in an electronic format that they wish to use.
